RescueSim Schiphol Project nominated for ICT project of the year award!
The VSTEP project to train the Schiphol Airport emergency services and safety personnel with the RescueSim virtual incident response trainer has been nominated by the leading Dutch computer magazine Computable for the ICT-project of the year award.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol selected the RescueSim Virtual Emergency Response Platform to prepare its emergency services and safety personnel for virtual training of airport incidents. VSTEP is working closely with the Schiphol Fire Brigade to include a full virtual 3D model of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and the surrounding area and relevant incident scenarios. The fire brigade will have at their disposal all relevant aircraft types, emergency services vehicles and equipment as well as general airport equipment, guaranteeing realistic incident simulation of any thinkable incident as Schiphol airport.
The application of advanced virtual training to optimalize and enhance preparation of first responders was deemed innovative and cost effective by the Computable jury. Using this innovative technology to enhance safety and security for a leading location like Schiphol Airport resulted in a nomination for this prestigious award.
